The best word to sum up 2017 is "interesting". My husband and I both had weird years. We both went through incredibly stressful, unhealthy, and difficult positions that we were blessed to move out of. We transitioned between 6 jobs between the two of us, and we both feel like we've settled on things we can stick with.
In November of, Brad was diagnosed with a protruding and degenerative disc in his spine. Although this isn't as serious as some health situations other families are in, it causes for many nights and weekends in bed, many "no"s to going out and seeing friends, and many sacrifices for both him and I in our marriage. It made for a sometimes lonely, and other times quiet and cozy ending to the year.
I can't say that 2017 was easy, but I also can't say that I won't miss it. This year forced us to grow in so many ways, and we're both better for it. As someone who likes change, and gets bored easily with the mundane, I'm hoping 2018 will be filled with more adventure, laughter and memories. It's weird to look back on a year and not remember anything too significant. It's a blessing to look back on the year and be able to see that we are not the same people we were in January.
I'm thankful for fresh starts, and clean slates. This year is starting off with some exciting business news that I get to share in a week. It's going to be a year full of being intentional, positive, encouraging and inspiration. Cheers to a new year!
